The Rogue Hunter

The Rogue Hunter by Lynsay Sands

What was this book about?

We met Garrett Mortimer (immortal blood sucker who is one of the good guys) in a previous novel when he helped Lucien Argeneau get his lifemate. This time the vampire policeman is in the middle of the country at a lake house trying to solve another mystery.

This is where he meets lawyer Samantha Willan. She and her sisters have gone out to her family cottage in order to get some relaxation. When she meets the neighbor Decker, Mortimer, and his partner Becker she can’t help but want to spend more time with them. Especially Mortimer.

But Mortimer is trying to solve a case and can’t really believe that he met his lifemate. Can he convince her that what he isn’t scary and that they should spend their lives together?

What did you think about the book?

I really can’t say anything bad about this series. I love the Argeneau vampire novels. They are fun and flirty. Each one is different enough that you don’t feel like you are reading the same story over and over again with just a few differences. And this one didn’t disappoint.

There were a few things for my own curiosity I would have liked to know have included that wasn’t but that was more of a personal preference then anything else. I love the Argeneau’s and wanted to see them in this book. You see characters that they know – but don’t get to spend in depth time with the ones that you love. Secondly I really wish I knew what was coming next. What I mean by that is what she is going to do with the two sisters and (SPOILER ahead) when Samantha is going to change. It seems like of everyone she needs it – she has all those balance problems because of her ear infections – I could just see things getting bad. I am hoping Lynsay has plans for this and is going to give me everything I want soon!

What genre would you consider this?

Paranormal Romance

Vampire Interrupted

Vampire Interrupted by Lynsay Sands (An Argeneau Novel)

What was this book about?
Margaurite Argeneau is ready to start her life on a new path. When fellow vampire Christian Notte comes to her and asks her to find his mother, she can’t help but want to try out this life full-force. On her quest she meets Christian’s father, Julius, who has kept the secret of Christian’s birth for over 500 years.

Margaurite can’t help but be attracted to Julius, but she has been burned before and spend centuries in an awful and abusive marriage. As she works toward the goal of the mission things start happening to her, people are trying to kill her. Is it because she knows too much? What is her connection to this mystery? Can they stop the killers before they accomplish what they are setting out to do?

What was your favorite part about this book?

The Argeneau family is just a pleasure to be around. It was nice to be able to but both Margaurite’s story to rest as well as truly finish “Vampires are Forever” since much of that plot revolves around what is happening to Margaurite at the same time.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
If you are observant in the family tree at the front of the book you will find out the major plot twist that you normally wouldn’t be expecting. So if you want to be surprised don’t look too hard.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Romance

Overall:
B+, it was one of my favorite’s in the series so far.

Spoilers:
I have to admit one of my favorite parts was the solving of the mystery of Christian’s mother. It was not something I was expecting in the least. But at the same point Lynsay was able to make it a believable twist.

Vampires are Forever

Vampires are Forever by Lynsay Sands (An Argeneau Novel)

What was this book about?

Composer Thomas Argeneau has been sent to figure out what has happened to his missing aunt (and practically adopted mother) Marguerite. Marguerite has finally decided to give up taking care of her home and grown children, instead becoming a private eye. While attempting to solve a case she has disappeared, leaving no trace of where she has gone or why. Her family are very worried about her. Thomas is sent to Europe to track her down and has been given an assistant to this task – Inez Urso. Inez has worked for the family business for 8 years but still hasn’t been told the truth about them – they are all vampires.

What was your favorite part about this book?
I love the Argeneau family so seeing all of them in this book has made me happy. It was like a big family reunion.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
That it is over and we still don’t know the mystery of Margauerite. Thankfully I have her book sitting on my desk and before I know it I will have all the answers that I need to know.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Romance

Overall: B+, they have fun story and I enjoyed how it all sorts of things from previous novels have come into play (Inez, Thomas, the other family members).

The Accidental Vampire

The Accidental Vampire by Lynsay Sands (Argeneau Vampire Series)

What was this book about?
Elvie Black doesn’t know what exactly happened when she was on a vacation, she only knows that she woke up a vampire. The only things that she has to tell her how a vampire acts are old movies and books. Her friends are worried about her, as they are getting older she is staying young, they do not want to leave her alone. Unbeknownst to Evie they put an add in a paper to find her a suitable mate. Meanwhile family leader Victor Argeneau is sent to find out what is going on with this vampire who seems to be leading a public life. This is totally against the vampire code.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I enjoyed the fact that she lived in a small town and had such a close relationship with so may people that they would accept her no matter what.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

For some reason the fact that Elvie was in her mid-60’s, but looked like a 20-something year old and should act like it was a little hard to overcome at first. If she had been 200 it would have been less a problem. I would have had the same problem with a man of that age.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Romance

Overall: B

Spoilers:
The mystery itself of who wanted to get Elvie seemed a little strange. The fact that she forgave them so easily was just odd, not to mention them going out of control when they have had years to think badly of her.
