What was this book about?
Reyes cannot fight his attraction to Danika Ford. The minute he saw her he felt this need to protect her. But he is both Reyes and the demon of Pain and he doesn’t want her innocence to be destroyed by him and his need to hurt himself.
Danika knows that Reyes and his friends kidnapped her family and has threatened to kill them. She is on the run and so are they. She has been separated from all that she loved because of him. So how can she trust him? How can she give in to her attraction to him?
What Danika doesn’t know is that she is a part of the Lords of the Underworld and if she doesn’t give in to them there are others out there who would hurt her and her family. It is a race to see who gets to her first and can she figure out why all these people are after her?
What did you think about the book?
I was waiting for this book ever since the first book. They have been foreshadowing a relationship between Reyes and Danika ever since then. And finally my hopes have been realized.
Things make sense now – why the gods sent Aeron after her to kill her and her family. What part she plays in the larger picture.
Would I recommend you start with this book in the series? No – I would definitely read this series beginning to end. You could probably catch up by starting here but you would lose some of the nuances of their relationship and why it is so hard for them to be together.
