American Diva

American Diva by Julia London (Thrillseekers Anonymous)

What was this book about?
Pop music sensation Audrey LaRue looks like she has everything. Jack Price meets her when she is doing a private show for a client of his. When a stalker begins to frighten her the first person her entourage thinks of is Jack. Audrey seems like the average diva who expects people to wait on her hand and foot, but what is really behind that façade is a person who needs to trust in someone.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I really enjoyed both Audrey and the truth of how your life changes when you become famous. It seems like everything would be roses, but instead there is a lot of pressure on you from the people who work for you and with you, to expectations for family and friends.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
Audrey has a boyfriend/manager Lucas, who is a jerk. But, does that still give her the right to cheat on him with the one guy that truly cares for her as a person? Maybe. But as someone who would like to see people treat people fairly

What genre would you consider this?

Contemporary Romance

Overall:
A-, I enjoyed the book overall as it was something different.

Spoilers:
Figuring out the stalker isn’t really all that hard (as they tell you it), though I wonder what he was planning on that last escapade of his.

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be:
Most Realistic Contemporary Romance
