What was this book about?
Charlie Newcomb has had a tough life, most of which is her own fault. She has just begun to get things on track when vampires begin going after her. Charlie didn’t even know that vampires existed, let alone know why they are coming after her. It seems to be all connected to her sister and best friend Jane. Thankfully the good guys are aware of the problem and have sent Guardian Ethan McCabe to protect her. He can’t help but be attracted to Charlie – both the good and bad.

What was your favorite part about this book?
I enjoyed the combination of demons, guardians (which almost seem like angels), and vampires. It is a world that I haven’t seen before. It is built to be both complex, yet something a first time reader can understand.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
SPOILER AHEAD! I wish I knew more about why the sheriff did what he did. Has he always been evil? If so how can he love so deeply he would do anything for his love? I also wish that Charlie could have been healed and gotten her voice back. In some ways it makes sense that she doesn’t and she has instead used her special musical ability in way no one predicted.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal romance

Overall: B, I would like to know more about this world and especially Michael.
