Tycoon’s Valentine Vendetta

Tycoon’s Valentine Vendetta by Yvonne Lindsay (Silhouette Desire)

What was this book about?

Jack Dolan feels that the Fontaine family took everything away from his family and himself. He must get revenge on them all, including his once first-love Lily. Lily has finally returned to her father, and the town she grew up in, after realizing her life has hit an awful place. She wants to start over. But she cannot resist the pull of Jack.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I really didn’t have one – I really did not like this book. The plot sounds interesting but it just wasn’t.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
One, Jack really didn’t seem to have feelings for Lily other than wanting to use her to hurt her father. Two, the location (New Zealand) didn’t really do it for me. I know that the author was from there – but for me I just didn’t know enough about the place that it intrigued me.

What genre would you consider this?
Romance

Overall:
D

Masquerade

Masquerade by Melissa de la Cruz (Blue Bloods Book 2)

What was this book about?
Schuyler Van Alen has been sent out by her now dead grandmother to find her grandfather. There are young vampires being killed by the Silver Bloods and everyone on their vampiric council is ignoring the facts.

Meanwhile, Schuyler is one of the only half-human, half-vampire’s in the community and things are progressing strangely with her powers. She must figure out what is going on with them before being able to truly fight these beings.

What was your favorite part about this book?
The whole heaven/hell, angels/vampires theme of the book is an interesting take on things. It truly is imaginative.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
Still want to know more. We figured out some parts by the end of this book – just not enough.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal

Overall:

The Secret Between Us

The Secret Between Us by Barbara Delinsky

What was this book about?
Deborah Monroe and her teenage daughter are on their way home when their car strikes a man walking on the road in the pitch black of night. Though Grace was driving, in an effort to protect her Deborah fesses up to being the driver.

This secret puts a wedge between the mother and daughter. It addresses how one secret can do damage to an entire family. Is what Deborah did really the best thing for her daughter?

What was your favorite part about this book?
The relationship between and mother and daughter, father and daughter, is addressed in this book. It is not a perfect relationship but still something that many have in their own lives.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
The relationship with the deceased brother-in-law just seems to be something ill-advised and not practical. It could happen but I kept banging my head against the wall wondering – “Why are you talking to him”.

What genre would you consider this?

Fiction

Overall: A-

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be: Book that I would want to give my Mother.

Remember Me?

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella

What was this book about?
Lexi Smart wakes up in a hospital after an accident, thankfully she really isn’t hurt badly. Unfortunately, the accident she remembers is one that occurred 3 years ago, not the one that just occurred the day before. She has lost three years of her life through amnesia.

She has to spend the next days figuring out what happened to her life in the last three years. Who is her husband? What kind of life does she have? Why does she look the way she does? Who are her friends? This shows you how much things can change in a short period of time, and how everyone’s perception of reality really doesn’t help the person whose life it is.

What was your favorite part about this book?
I like how it made me think about how actions and events can affect your life in ways you may not realize. Because of the slowness in which life evolves, sometimes you just don’t notice how life has changed and how you ended up being the person you are today.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
Nothing

What genre would you consider this?
Fiction

Overall: A-

Frogs and French Kisses

Frogs and French Kisses by Sarah Mlynowski (Sequel to Bras & Broomsticks)

What was this book about?
Teen Rachel has just come off a horrible social faux-pas which has destined her to be unpopular and hated at school. Her mother is trying to recapture love by starting dating again. And her sister and mother are witches.

For some reason, no mater what Rachel and her sister try to do – it just doesn’t turn out as expected. They need to figure out how to work Miri’s magic in a way that good things happen.

What was your favorite part about this book?
The family dynamic is fun. Also how magic happens is something you realize in this book, and you figure out that using it isn’t always good.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
Didn’t really have one.

What genre would you consider this?
Teen Fiction

Overall: B

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be: Book that I would give my Teen - (While this book is interesting it in no way is something that I feel has subjects that I wouldn’t want a young teen exposed to).

Blue Bloods

Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz (Blue Bloods Book 1)

What was this book about?
New York City has a history that spans centuries. It contains old families with money who interact with each other through years. But some of these families hold secrets beyond wealth, adultery, and power – they hold a secret of blood, past lives and more. Schuyler Van Alen has never fit in to any group in her high school. She is surrounded by people like Mimi and Jack Frost, who have always been popular with no effort.

One of her schoolmates is found dead, and mystery surrounds the event. How was a Blue Blood killed? Is Schuyler and her friends in danger?

What was your favorite part about this book?
The history of the Blue Bloods and the reason for them being vampires is something new and interesting. Especially since it can be tied into the past –Plymouth, Roanoke etc.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
The relationship between siblings is a bit twisted. In some ways it makes sense, but in others it is just odd.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal

Overall:
B+

Darkling

Darkling by Yasmine Galenorn (Otherworld Book 3)

What was this book about?

Three sisters, all part fae-part human, each with their own talents must help protect earth and the otherworld from evil. There is Camille, a half witch. Second sister, Delilah, transforms into a tabby cat when she is under stress. Finally, there is Menolly, who after a horrible assignment gone wrong is turned into a vampire. Menolly (and her sisters) must find a way of stopping whatever is turning humans into vamps. They think Dredge, the vampire that originally turned Menolly in a very cruel way, may be to blame. They need to find Dredge and also see if he is in cahoots with Shadow Wing (the evil force that is threatening Earth and the Otherworld). They must defeat him before they can move on.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I like the Otherworld/Earth story. It is interesting (and viable if these things existed) to think that there would have to be some sort of governing body to keep these things in line. So the Otherworld Intelligence Agency seems like a reasonable step.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
I truly thought this series was a three book series. I don’t know what gave me that impression – but I did. It probably had to do with the fact that each sister had a book (in the first three books) then it looks like each sister gets another book. It is more of a rotating point of view, with each book telling part of a new story in their perspective. So knowing that would have helped. I thought they were going to have to rush the ending in order to get through everything.

What genre would you consider this?

Paranormal

Overall: B, I liked the first two books better.

Spoilers:
If you want a classic romance this is not the series for you. It has lesbianism, group sex, and things of that nature mentioned in regards to the sisters relationships.

Once Smitten, Twice Shy

Once Smitten, Twice Shy by Lori Wilde (Wedding Veil Wishes)

What was this book about?
Ever since her divorce Tish Gallagher has had a hard time. She can’t seem to make enough to pay her bills, she can’t stop her crazy spending sprees, and her career as a videographer. Then a chance of a lifetime comes up, she is offered the chance to videotape the wedding of the first daughter. There is one major (and crazy) catch – the groom is her ex-husband. Shane Tremont, the ex, is a secret service agent who got caught up in the whole thing protecting the first daughter. He has never gotten over his ex and just wants to find a way to move on in his life.

What was your favorite part about this book?
You can’t help but like the first daughter. She is a bit naïve but still she has a lot of great characteristics.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

I didn’t think that the whole quickness of the engagement between the first daughter and Shane was expected. It was almost a little much to think that the president really would be ok with this. I guess it is understandable because he risked his life.

What genre would you consider this?

Contemporary Romance

Overall:
B, I think I might read more of these Wedding Veil Wishes novels.

Howl at the Moon

Howl at the Moon by Christine Warren (A Novel of the Others)

What was this book about?
Samantha Carstairs has been brought up in her lupine pack to follow the rules of their community. Her best friend, Annie, is also a pack member and a genius. Annie’s research seems to be leading her down a path that is dangerous to both her and to others. He is forced to use that connection, as his military commanders want him to spy on Annie and the research that she is doing. He has always had a extreme attraction to Sam and is having a hard time keeping it separate from his job.

What was your favorite part about this book?
All the various types of creatures – Fae, Lupine, Demons all work together for the betterment of the others. They have deep friendships that transcend boundaries of race.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
Nothing really jumped out at me as something I didn’t like.

What genre would you consider this?

Paranormal Romance

Overall: B+

Simply Perfect

Simply Perfect by Mary Balogh

What was this book about?
Claudia Martin has made much of herself in a time when women had a hard time being anything other then a wife and mother. She is the headmistress and owner of girls school Miss Martin’s School for Girl’s. Over time she has seen many of her students and teachers move on to bigger and better things. During one of her trips to placing her girls as governesses, she is accompanied by friend of one of her old teachers – Joseph, Marquess of Attingsborough. Claudia has a past with nobility thinking they are better then other people and definitely has a chip on her shoulder when it comes to Joseph. Joseph needs her help with something though, and once she finds out what she can’t help but see he really is a wonderful person.

What was your favorite part about this book?
My favorite part was the little girl that is in it. She is totally an adorable character that helps bring Joseph and Claudia together.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
I really found it offputting that Mary Balogh kept mentioning “Simply perfect” several times in the novel. I don’t need to be told how the title was decided upon, let alone more than once.

What genre would you consider this?
Historical romance

Overall: B, generally enjoyable and I wish I remembered more about the previous books that I had read as the characters have a repeat performance in this novel.

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be:
Best Book that shows you don’t have to be 20 to be a heroine in a historical romance.

Blue-Eyed Devil

Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas

What was this book about?
Haven Travis is a rich girl who had everything growing up, except acceptance no matter what from her father. She marries a man her family disapproves of, and after two years is forced back into their world after that doesn’t work out. Hardy Cates is attracted to Haven and has been for years. His history with her family doesn’t lend itself to her trusting that his intentions are true. Her past with men has been damaging both to her self and her family and she doesn’t know if she can let her heart lead her.

What was your favorite part about this book?

Things weren’t perfect, people weren’t perfect, but things can work out in the end.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

I hate the ex-husband (as you are supposed to) and wish something really really bad could have happened to him.

What genre would you consider this?
Contemporary Romance

Overall:
B+, I want to be sure to read more about the Travis family as they come out.

Spoilers:
Domestic violence is definitely discussed in this book.

Chosen

Chosen by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast (House of Night Novel 3)

What was this book about?
Zoey is not only a vampire, but she is stuck in a school where she can’t even trust her mentor and teacher. She is conflicted over her three boyfriends and can’t choose between them all. Her best friend and roommate Stevie Rae is now one of the undead, after not having completed her change. Thankfully Stevie Rae is different the rest of the undead, she seems to still have a piece of her soul and humanity. Zoey needs to figure out how to save Stevie Rae from this awful threat.

Meanwhile, at her school vampyres are turning up dead. They don’t know who or what is causing it. Who will be next?

What was your favorite part about this book?

I just really enjoy the “House of Night” as a place and a dynamic.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
I feel things were left to unresolved. That in some ways this was just a part 1 of a two part single book. But it isn’t. So now I have to wait for the next one.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Fiction

Overall:
B, Still a great book!

Spoilers: Zoey has sexual relations in this novel and if that is something you really don’t want your children reading/knowing about then you may have problems with that. In no way is it graphic.

The Haunting of Josie

The Haunting of Josie by Kay Hooper

What was this book about?
Josie Douglas has had a tough life, and she needs a little time to do some research in peace and quiet. She rents a small cottage in an isolated part of a small town. Almost immediately she meets Marc Westbrook, landlord and descendent of the original owner of the property. Almost immediately strange things start happening to Josie. She doesn’t think she is going crazy, but she already has one mystery to solve – can she solve another one. Then there is the attraction she can’t help but have for Marc – can she deny that?

What was your favorite part about this book?

The kitty cat was pretty cute. The fact that he was more then a cat and that they could tell it was pretty interesting. Anyone that has been around cats for that long sometimes wonders if they know what you are saying. This one it seems really does.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
While the mystery of the cottage is resolved, Josie’s mystery really isn’t fully resolved.

What genre would you consider this?
Romance

Overall: B-, not my favorite Kay Hooper book, but interesting all the same.

Hard to Handle

Hard to Handle by Lori Foster (SBC Series)

What was this book about?
Harley Handleman has wanted to win an SBC championship belt his entire life. Things keep getting in his way and he can’t help but watch the chances slip out of his fingers. This time he is not going to let that happen. While taking a short break from his normal fighting schedule to recuperate he meets land lady Anastasia Bradley. She is different from all of the other women he has known, and he can’t help but find her intriguing. When he finds out there is someone after her, his protective nature jumps to the forefront. Harley doesn’t want to let Stasia into his life.

What was your favorite part about this book?

If you like big men who want to take care of their women, and have women who are strong enough to take care of themselves then these books are for you. It makes you want to curl up next to your man and let him protect you, with both of you knowing you can protect yourself.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
To me it was obvious what was going on with the whole “death threats” thing that was going on with Stasia. Then again, I am pretty good at guessing these kind of things.

What genre would you consider this?

Romance

Overall: B+

The Bleeding Dusk

The Bleeding Dusk by Colleen Gleason (Gardella Vampire Chronicles)

What was this book about?
Once again Venture, Lady Victoria Gardella Grandworth de Lacy must save the world from vampires. They have found a way into a legendary alchemist’s layer and thy want all the secrets it contains.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I didn’t really have one.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
This book will be so confusing to anyone who hadn’t started at the beginning of the series and read everything in order. I had read one of these books before so I at least knew a little about what was going on – but most of the first half seems to be them flashing back to things they had done before in bits and pieces.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal

Overall: D, while it is heralded as Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets… I just don’t enjoy this. It is not a romance – even in the sense that over time they will get together. I guess they could but only after they get past the fact that everyone is getting together with everyone else over the span of several books. I think I am done with the Gardella Series.

Night Life

Night Life by Elizabeth Guest

What was this book about?
Adrian King was a pharaoh in long ago Egypt. He felt his life was coming to an early end and wanted to do something to prevent it. He has had a sort of magic in his life forever so he is able to do something to make himself immortal after his first death. Now he lives in present day Las Vegas – the owner and operator of a casino. Of course it is an Egyptian casino. When Egyptologist Christine Day is in Vegas for a conference she knows she has to stop by and see what everyone is talking about. She finds there is much more then she could ever have believed – both a man and an incredible work of art in the casino.

What was your favorite part about this book?
The fact they are star crossed lovers that each have their very own powers (to some extent) but also are meant to be together is quite captivating. The characters are strong, yet believable (except for the whole immortality thing). You just don’t find a lot of books like this about ancient Egypt but it is a lot of fun.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

I get what happened in terms of Adrian's murder, but how the whole thing worked – why he had magic, why he cursed everyone involved wasn’t really explored.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Romance

Overall: B

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be:
Best Egyptian Romance

Demon Night

Demon Night by Meljean Brook

What was this book about?
Charlie Newcomb has had a tough life, most of which is her own fault. She has just begun to get things on track when vampires begin going after her. Charlie didn’t even know that vampires existed, let alone know why they are coming after her. It seems to be all connected to her sister and best friend Jane. Thankfully the good guys are aware of the problem and have sent Guardian Ethan McCabe to protect her. He can’t help but be attracted to Charlie – both the good and bad.

What was your favorite part about this book?
I enjoyed the combination of demons, guardians (which almost seem like angels), and vampires. It is a world that I haven’t seen before. It is built to be both complex, yet something a first time reader can understand.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
SPOILER AHEAD! I wish I knew more about why the sheriff did what he did. Has he always been evil? If so how can he love so deeply he would do anything for his love? I also wish that Charlie could have been healed and gotten her voice back. In some ways it makes sense that she doesn’t and she has instead used her special musical ability in way no one predicted.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal romance

Overall:
B, I would like to know more about this world and especially Michael.

He knows he needs witch and ex-lover Jazz Tremaine to get the job done. Unfortunately, they have a past that makes for an untrusting relationship.

What was your favorite part about this book?

Didn’t have anything that stuck out.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

Again nothing that stuck out.

What genre would you consider this?

Paranormal Romance

Overall:
C+, It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. I thought it was a little slow to start, maybe that was the problem.

Dead Perfect

Dead Perfect by Amanda Ashley

What was this book about?
Shannah Davis is at death’s door and willing to do anything to beat the disease that is killing her. When she begins to think that stranger Ronan may be a vampire she knocks on his door asking for him to turn her too. She realizes he really isn’t a vampire (but he is), but he needs her for something. She begins to work with him so that they both get something out of their arrangement, she is feeling better and gets to spend her last days with him.

What was your favorite part about this book?

The fact that he was a romance novelist was kinda fun.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

The whole vampire stick seems very cliché. He drinks her blood and can make her better, has control over her and other people, and oh yeah there is a vampire hunter that is out to get him. There is just nothing original in this vampire novel. I really enjoy when something different about the vampire world is thought of – and this just doesn’t do that.

What genre would you consider this?

Paranormal Romance

Overall: C+ - if you want to read another vampire book this is the one for you.

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be:
Most Unoriginal Story of Vampires

Betrayed

Betrayed by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast (House of Night Novel 2)

What was this book about?
Zoey has begun to fit in at her school. She has four best friends who care for her and would seem to do anything for her. Then she finds out several human teenagers that she knew when she was just a normal teenage girl, are missing and have been killed. And it looks like they were killed by vampyres.

She has to find out what is really happening to everyone before those that she cares about are hurt.

What was your favorite part about this book?

They definitely didn’t have books like this when I was a teenager – and that is a bad thing. These books are entertaining enough that I wouldn’t say you need to b a teen to enjoy them. You just have to like the subject.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

I knew the whole time that she was going to be betrayed by someone. So I spent the whole book looking into everything and it wasn’t easy for me to like her friends, boyfriends, anyone because I was looking for them to be a traitor.

What genre would you consider this?

Paranormal

Overall:
B+, again another great book.

Marked

Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast (House of Night Novel 1)

What was this book about?
Zoey is a normal teenager who just wants to fit in with her family, her friends, and her school. That is not going to happen. She is marked as a vampyre and must immediately go to the House of Night under threat of death. If she doesn’t go there she will die from the genetic mutation that makes her a vampyre. She is marked by the goddess of the vampyre’s, Nyx, who wants Zoey to be her eyes and ears. She must evil in her new school, while maintaining the courage that the goddess knew she had.

What was your favorite part about this book?

It was an amusing read. Seeing teenagers and how they interact brings back a lot of my own personal feelings about how those you meet at that time have much more to them then you will ever know.

What was your least favorite part about this book?

This book is marketed at teens. I truly think that teens will enjoy it but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone that was under 12 as it does have drug and sex mentioned in it.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal

Overall:
B+

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be:
Best Series to Start Reading while waiting for the next Stephanie Meyer Book.

Elijah

Elijah by Jacquelyn Frank (Nightwalkers)

What was this book about?
Captain of the demons (which in this case the demons aren’t like what we think demon’s are), Elijah is surprised by an attack. He is left for dead by those who are his enemies in a land he knows nothing about. Elijah is found by the Lycanthrope queen Siena and taken to a cabin in the woods to heal. They try to fight their unwavering attraction for each other. He loves her, but she has a history that she needs to fight. She has no intention of ever marrying and putting her people in jeopardy.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I had not read any of the other Nightwalker books. They are inventive and combine demon, lyncanthropes, and vampires in an usual way. I especially like seeing and being part of all the characters that I have yet to read their books (but now I will have to).

What was your least favorite part about this book?
It took me a little bit to get used the fact a demon wasn’t something necessarily bad. I am used to demons in other books as being bad guys and the word itself has a context associated with it in my mind that made it hard to get over.

What genre would you consider this?

Paranormal Romance

Overall:
B+

Aunt Dimity: Vampire Hunter

Aunt Dimity: Vampire Hunter by Nancy Atherton

What was this book about?

Lori Shepard is like any other mother. Her twins are finally ready to leave the house and start attending school and she can’t help but worry about them all the time. It is leaving her a little out of touch with reality. Then along comes a mystery she can’t help but try to solve. Her 5-year-old twins saw a vampire at her friend’s local estate. She and her friend Kit, look to find out what they really saw and find so much more.

What was your favorite part about this book?
I enjoyed the story of Kit’s always love Nell who is so good both inside and out people follow her just to be in her presence.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
Aunt Dimity doesn’t fit with the theme of the rest of the book. Aunt Dimity is some person who died, and magically can respond via a book to Lori.

What genre would you consider this?
Fiction

Overall: C-, I just didn’t enjoy it at all. It tried to be a mystery but didn’t pull that off, tried to have a paranormal twist and didn’t pull that off. Generally it just wasn’t at all what I expected based on the title or the inside jacket.

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be: Book that tried to be a paranormal mystery and just can’t quite pull it off.

American Diva

American Diva by Julia London (Thrillseekers Anonymous)

What was this book about?
Pop music sensation Audrey LaRue looks like she has everything. Jack Price meets her when she is doing a private show for a client of his. When a stalker begins to frighten her the first person her entourage thinks of is Jack. Audrey seems like the average diva who expects people to wait on her hand and foot, but what is really behind that façade is a person who needs to trust in someone.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I really enjoyed both Audrey and the truth of how your life changes when you become famous. It seems like everything would be roses, but instead there is a lot of pressure on you from the people who work for you and with you, to expectations for family and friends.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
Audrey has a boyfriend/manager Lucas, who is a jerk. But, does that still give her the right to cheat on him with the one guy that truly cares for her as a person? Maybe. But as someone who would like to see people treat people fairly

What genre would you consider this?

Contemporary Romance

Overall:
A-, I enjoyed the book overall as it was something different.

Spoilers:
Figuring out the stalker isn’t really all that hard (as they tell you it), though I wonder what he was planning on that last escapade of his.

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be:

Knight of Darkness

Knight of Darkness by Kinley MacGregor (Lords of Avalon Book 2)

What was this book about?
It has been a quest of the battle of good versus evil for centuries in Camelot. Varian duFrey has been in the middle of this battle for years, because of his birth. He has become the assassin for the good guys (Merlin). When Merlin sends him on a quest to find out information from the bad guys (Morgan and his mother) he instead is made to take sides. Rescue an innocent who has been in their clutches, or watch her die for the good of the cause.

What was your favorite part about this book?

I love how things are built up in these books. It makes me think that there is an overwhelming arc that I just don’t know about yet. At the same time I am satisfied with the ending and don’t feel like I have been left hanging waiting for more.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
This good versus evil quest when the people in it that are good (or evil) and are fighting the other half of their persona. It is a true representation of people in that no one is purely good or purely evil, but it is an interesting twist.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Romance

Overall: B, I enjoyed this book like I did the one before it.

If I was to nominate this book for an award it would be:

Single mother Kerri Sullivan has a lot to deal with – no money and a very sick child. Her son had been diagnosed with Gilliar’s disease years before and was close to the end of his life. She would do anything, and that does mean anything to find a cure for him. Her child has become her life. She finds billionaire Nathan King as a likely supporter of her cause. Margaurite can’t help but be attracted to Julius, but she has been burned before and spend centuries in an awful and abusive marriage. Can they stop the killers before they accomplish what they are setting out to do?

What was your favorite part about this book?

The Argeneau family is just a pleasure to be around. It was nice to be able to but both Margaurite’s story to rest as well as truly finish “Vampires are Forever” since much of that plot revolves around what is happening to Margaurite at the same time.

What was your least favorite part about this book?
If you are observant in the family tree at the front of the book you will find out the major plot twist that you normally wouldn’t be expecting. So if you want to be surprised don’t look too hard.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Romance

Overall:
B+, it was one of my favorite’s in the series so far.

Spoilers:
I have to admit one of my favorite parts was the solving of the mystery of Christian’s mother. It was not something I was expecting in the least. But at the same point Lynsay was able to make it a believable twist.

Vampires are Forever

Vampires are Forever by Lynsay Sands (An Argeneau Novel)

What was this book about?

Composer Thomas Argeneau has been sent to figure out what has happened to his missing aunt (and practically adopted mother) Marguerite. Marguerite has finally decided to give up taking care of her home and grown children, instead becoming a private eye. While attempting to solve a case she has disappeared, leaving no trace of where she has gone or why. Her family are very worried about her. Thomas is sent to Europe to track her down and has been given an assistant to this task – Inez Urso. Inez has worked for the family business for 8 years but still hasn’t been told the truth about them – they are all vampires.

I love the Argeneau family so seeing all of them in this book has made me happy. It was like a big family reunion.

That it is over and we still don’t know the mystery of Margauerite. Thankfully I have her book sitting on my desk and before I know it I will have all the answers that I need to know.

What genre would you consider this?
Paranormal Romance

Overall: B+, they have fun story and I enjoyed how it all sorts of things from previous novels have come into play (Inez, Thomas, the other family members).
